2010年6月には、802.3ba（40Gbps/100Gbpsイーサネット）の標準化が終了する予定ですが、標準化に先駆けて各ベンダーはすでに100Gイーサに対応した製品を続々と発表しています。

CiscoのCRS-3やJuniperのT1600、alcatel-lucentの7750 SRや7450 ESSなどが、対応を発表しています。

現状のネットワークではトラフィックをさばききれなくなっている通信キャリアなどは、とにかく早く100G化を進めたい。
そこで各ベンダーはとにかく他社よりも早く発表するため、標準化が終わる前にプレスリリースを打ってくるわけです。

早い者が勝つ法則があるていど成り立ってしまうんですねぇ。

先日も海外の大手通信キャリアが100G化へ向けた動きを見せ始めています。

・Verizonが2010年中に100G展開を発表
フィールドトライアルでマルチベンダー環境で100G動作を確認したようです。

・AT&Tが100G展開へ向けてまずは40Gへの更改を実施
AT&Tは40G移行を挟んでから、100Gへと移行する模様。

日本でもNTTドコモが2010年中にLTEサービスを開始すると言われていますが、海外では米国のVerizonがLTEのフィールドトライアルを実施したようです。

Verizon Wireless says that tests in Boston and Seattle show that it should be able to get multi-megabit per second peaks out of its Long Term Evolution (LTE) networks, but the operator is still promising average downloads of up to 12 Mbit/s using the new technology.

結果は以下の通り。

平均速度は、下り5～12Mbps。上り2～5Mbps

ピーク速度は、下り40-50Mbps。上り20～25Mbps

LTEのピーク速度は、下り100Mbps以上、上り50Mbps以上を目指していることを考えると、期待していたほどの速度は出てないようです。

先日ciscoが発表した、CRS-3ですが、早速他ベンダーから反論があがっています。

Alcatel-Lucent と Juniper が反論しています。

まぁ、他ベンダーとしては当然の対応ですね。

JuniperなどはCRS-3発表後、即座にTeliaSoneraから自社製品のTX Matrix Plusを受注したリリースだしてますし。

以前Ciscoの発表で、ビデオストリーミングがトラフィック全体に占める割合は2013年には90％を超えると予測していましたし、時代を先読みしての投入でしょうか。

東証、予算20億で往復1ミリ秒以下の超低レイテンシを実現 － ＠IT

ジュニパーネットワークスと東京証券取引所（東証）は8日、報道関係者向けの記者会見を実施。東証が2010年1月から稼働を開始している高速ネットワーク基盤「arrownet」が順調に稼働していることを発表し、その詳細を紹介した

以前から気になっていた東証の「arrownet」ですが、ルータはJuniper使っていたんですね。

次世代ネットワークの「arrownet」では、通信網に高速な「WDM（光波長分割多重装置）」や「MPLS（Multi-Protocol Label Switching）」を採用し、高速化を図っている。アクセスポイントから各業務システム間のレイテンシは2ミリ秒以下を目指した。具体的には、アクセスポイントとプライマリサイト／バックアップサイトを10ギガのMPLS網とWDM網の二重構成で接続。それぞれのサイトには、ジュニパーのマルチサービスエッジルータ「M120」と「M320」をそれぞれ採用した。

ネットワーク構成を見る限り、出来るだけ経由するルータの数を減らして、最大限にレイテンシを少なくしているようですね。

使っている技術自体は目新しい技術は無さそうです。

CiscoがCRS-1を高速化したルータ「CRS-3」を発表しました。

16slotのシングルシャーシで4.48Tbps、マルチシャーシにすると最大322Tbpsの処理能力は、CRS-1の3.4倍（CRS-1は96Tbps）。

さらに省電力化も図られていおり、最大消費電力が60%削減されているようですね。
モジュール類はCRS-1との互換性もあるようです。

すでにAT&TがCRS-3を使った100Gbpsイーサネットのフィールドトライアルを実施しているようです。

最近Ciscoが‘forever change the Internet’とまで言って煽っていたのはこのことでしたか。

医療や教育に関するICTを活用したサービスは、世界に比べると日本は随分と遅れているなぁという印象。

個人情報の扱い等の問題で、すぐには無理なのでしょうが、ぜひともクラウド環境を構築して出来るだけ早くサービス提供してもらいたいところです。

AT&T、China Mobile、Verizon Wireless、Vodafoneといった主要キャリアに混ざって、ドコモやソフトバンクモバイルも参加していますね。

iphoneやandroidに危機感を持った通信キャリアが力を合わせたというところでしょうか。
